Grand and intimate in equal measure
Middleton Castle is a venue of a particular kind; not a hotel with a function room, not a barn with exposed beams. A real, moated, Grade I listed castle that has stood since 1455 with a lawn large enough for a marquee, an oak-panelled dining room for an intimate dinner, and fifteen bedrooms so the people who matter most can stay the night.

THE CEREMONY

Middleton Castle is not a licensed venue for civil ceremonies, but the estate offers several beautiful settings for a symbolic ceremony that is entirely your own. The Great Hall within the castle is a stunning indoor option for more intimate gatherings. For those who prefer to celebrate outside, the front lawn, with the castle as your backdrop, is a wonderful choice and marquees are welcome in the gardens. Alternatively, you are welcome to hold your legal ceremony locally and join us at Middleton for the reception and celebrations.

Weddings at Middleton Castle include a minimum three-night stay because the best celebrations deserve more than one evening. The castle accommodates up to thirty guests across fifteen individually decorated bedrooms, including a bridal suite with an adjoining reception room, en-suite bathroom and roll-top bath.

Good food is at the heart of any great wedding. We work with a trusted collection of caterers who know the castle and its kitchens well, and we ask that couples choose from our recommended partners so we can be confident that every meal, from the wedding breakfast to the final breakfast before departure, is exactly as it should be.
